NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif., April 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — In its inaugural year, the North Hollywood CineFest will showcase 67 films, shorts and features, from local to international, including Oscar-winning and nominated works at the Laemmle NoHo 7 theaters.

The festival will host a red carpet event on Saturday, April 12 at 5pm featuring numerous celebrity guest appearances, the American made couture stylings of local favorite Pinup Girl Boutique, and additional surprises. Among those scheduled to appear are Skeet Ulrich (Scream), Lisa Edelstein (House M.D.) and Melissa Claire Egan (The Young and the Restless). Q&A sessions with talent from the films will take place immediately after the screenings. In addition, councilman Paul Krekorian (Los Angeles City, District 2), CBS anchor Suzie Suh, reporters Suzanne Marques, Stephanie Simmons and Lisa Sigell will be joining the event with many more celebrities expected to be added as well.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit two distinguished nonprofit partners: The Talbert Family Foundation, which assists families dealing with a catastrophic illness, and Grid Alternatives, whose mission is to make renewable energy technology and job training accessible to underserved communities. In addition, key community partners and sponsors include BD Guidance, nohoartscommunity.com, District Pub, The Hesby, LA Grip, Bow and Truss Restaurant, the Art Institute and Market Media Group.
A film financing and distribution symposium will take place at the Artist Resource Center (ARC) of North Hollywood, with entertainment attorney Bianca Goodloe and Senior Vice-President of Myriad Pictures Audrey Delaney confirmed to appear. The discussion will be moderated by the festival director, Gustavo Sampaio. This event will take place this Saturday from 3pm to 5pm. In addition, a WebTV Workshop will be offered at J.E.T. Studios on Sunday from 1pm – 3pm and will be led by Damian Pelliccione.
