iBoss Web Filters Joins Internet Watch Foundation in Effort to Combat Online Child Sex Abuse Images

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 16, 2011 — iBoss Web Filters (http://www.iboss.com), providers of gateway security for large organizations, has joined the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) to combat online images of child sex abuse. The UK-based foundation battles online child sexual abuse images in partnership with police, government and the online industry worldwide.

The IWF partnership enables iBoss to expand security to protect networks against child sexual abuse sites hosted worldwide. iBoss Web Filters will expand its security portfolio to protect organizations against child sexual abuse images online.

"The IWF serves a vital role in protecting children around the world. By joining the IWF, iBoss expands its commitment to provide a safe, clean Internet access to organizations," said Paul Martini, CEO of Phantom Technologies, which produces iBoss Web Filters.

Deborah McGovern, Acting Chief Executive, IWF, said, "I am very pleased to welcome iBoss as a member of the Internet Watch Foundation. Our diverse membership shows the significant level of industry backing for our self-regulatory, multi-stakeholder model. Self-regulation strives to meet the demands of evolving technology, and our successes in tackling child sexual abuse images worldwide since 1996 are thanks to our ability to adapt in this ever-changing environment."

With the iBoss Enterprise Web Filter, users can block access to Internet websites in categories including adult, violence, illegal, hacking, drugs, dating, forums, video, gambling, games, shopping, webmail and more. An industry leader, the iBoss Web Filter received a perfect score and best buy rating for 2011 from SC magazine. The filter earned five stars across all categories: ease of use, performance, features, documentation, support and value.

The IWF works internationally to remove child sexual abuse images from the Internet. It also maintains a list of offending sites that companies may want to block in order to protect their customers from being inadvertently exposed to abusive images of children. Its partnership with iBoss helps achieve its vision of eliminating child sexual abuse images from the Internet.

iBoss has been chosen by both public and private school organizations to provide web filtering solutions for its users. In addition, the Home Parental Control from iBoss was named outstanding safety product for 2009 and 2010 by iParenting Media.
