Historical Novelist Robert Fertig Predicts President Obama's Probable Legacy in his Book "Quicksand"

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Dec. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — President Obama's legacy is now firmly established, based on his reversal of United States Cuban policy, and facts gleaned from numerous creditable sources, such as books by Hillary Clinton, Robert Gates, Leon Panetta, and reports from retired generals.

Author Fertig also reveals that, "Chemical weapons in Syria and Iraq have not been secured. If we can send thousands of troops to combat Ebola — why not send highly skilled and motivated 'mercenaries' to combat ISIS terrorists and secure these chemical weapons of mass destruction?"

Quicksand (Gathering Storm in the Middle East Book 2) is historical fiction by Robert Thomas Fertig. Vincent Ronaldo is married with kids, and has a successful computer software company. He becomes intimate with Eva, an attractive but deceitful woman accustomed to getting her way. Vincent makes a few business deals with questionable characters that prove disastrous to his career. He is entangled in a web of international terrorism involving the C.I.A., agents, greedy bankers and politicians. When Vincent meets Anne, a beautiful double agent, his life changes course again. He compares Anne to his other women, while suffering from a midlife crisis combined with increasing financial problems brought on by the unsuccessful schemes he made. Vincent wonders how he will extricate himself from [the] hole he has fallen into, and regain a normal life again.

Some persons will see danger looming, but still walk into it. That's exactly what Vincent does and repeatedly in Quicksand. Robert Thomas Fertig combines historical facts and fiction in an interesting content. He uses original quotes from political speeches, and summarizes events and scandals that have embarrassed world leaders and shocked the world. Most of the setting takes place in Europe, and the author's book is very descriptive. His writing style is bold and well researched. He made me visualize countries and their cultures. Religion plays an important role in the novel as the conflicts involve three major ones. Readers will find the book thought provoking as it makes worthwhile conversation."

"President Clinton could have prevented the 9/11 attacks, if he gave the CIA approval to take Osama bin Laden out (they had him in their sights). Clinton failed to nip this nascent terrorism threat, and then sent his NSA aid to steal National Archives files to cover up his failures," Fertig claims.

"History is now repeated by President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, with their many strategic blunders in the Middle East, and they both are trying to cover up their mess," the author concludes.

"Cutting off radical Islam terrorists from their main source of money — 'black gold' — is clearly the strategy for success in the Middle East. We also need a 'New Crusade' to counter ISIS terrorist ideology," Fertig stresses. "The lesson from history is simple: One cannot make deals with devils, such as Castro of Cuba, and Taliban terrorists who kill innocent children."

Quicksand is available on Amazon.com and bookstores.
