New, Two-Minute Video Unveils One of the World's Biggest, Least-Known Killers

The unlikely culprit: primitive household stoves. These rudimentary, indoor fires cause Household Air Pollution (HAP) that contaminates the atmosphere and the lungs of the families gathered around it.
In a new, two-minute video synopsis, the Himalayan Stove Project (HSP) explains how it combats the global threat by distributing free, clean-burning cook stoves to the people of the High Himalayas—a region that represents an internationally prized natural treasure as well as an environmentally crucial cryosphere. Pollution from open fires in this region speeds up snowmelt, and thus climate change worldwide.
