HG.org Boosts Legal Job Ad Visibility While Saving Employers Hundreds of Dollars

HOUSTON, Feb. 7, 2011 — The job search and hiring process has migrated online in recent years in all fields, even the legal profession. In response to increased demand for online job listings – and a high unemployment rate nationwide – HG.org has launched a new service enabling legal recruiters, law firms and other employers in the field to post their legal job listings for free.

HG.org is no newcomer to the legal field; since 1995 it has published leading online legal directories. The site boasts 850,000 unique visitors per month and is high in search engine rankings for keywords related to the legal job market. In terms of site traffic, according to Anne Lang, an HG.org executive, its online job postings have superior visibility.

“In the professional legal marketplace, our new service benefits all parties,” said Lang. “Prospective employees now have access to many more job opportunities. Employers can draw from a much larger pool of job applicants, meaning they will be able to hire the best-qualified candidate for the job. And this means law firm clients and businesses will be better served.”

Since HG.org launched its free employment listings at the beginning of January, numerous legal recruiters and companies – including major computer corporations and entertainment powerhouses – have posted legal jobs for free on the portal. Some of the positions have already been filled, Lang noted.

Other sites charge hundreds of dollars per month for employment ad services. In this tight economy with high unemployment rates, Lang explained, HG.org took the initiative to offer legal job postings at no cost. The service is geared not just to law firms but also to legal recruiters, government agencies and large companies offering legal jobs on a regular or occasional basis.

“At HG.org,” said Lang, “we aim to streamline how legal recruiters, law firms, government agencies and employers with job openings connect to legal professionals who need jobs.”
