Gladinet Attaches EMC Atmos Cloud Storage to File Servers and Desktops

LAKE WORTH, Fla., May 13, 2010 — Gladinet has delivered an innovative cloud storage access platform for EMC Atmos cloud storage platform. Building on the successful desktop integration technology of Cloud Desktop, Gladinet CloudAFS  (Cloud Attached File Server) enables small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to attach Atmos storage to their file servers. With the introduction of CloudAFS and the widespread adoption of Cloud Desktop, Gladinet now offers a complete cloud access solution for local or remote IT workers.

"The EMC Velocity2 Atmos Partner Program demonstrates our commitment to deliver innovative storage solutions that address the growing needs of our partners seeking to leverage cloud infrastructure. We believe there is an opportunity and approach to cloud storage that delivers financial and functional benefits to our partners and the customers they serve," said Mike Feinberg, Senior Vice President of EMC Cloud Infrastructure Group. "By making our cloud infrastructure accessible and allowing easy API integration, we enable our partners to respond to customers' fast-growing demand for cloud-based solutions with greater scalability, elasticity and lower costs. We are pleased to work with Gladinet to embrace and deliver these benefits to our joint customers."

IT professionals with storage expansion needs can now use Gladinet CloudAFS to attach EMC Atmos cloud storage to existing IT infrastructure, creating a cost-effective multi-tiered storage solution with low migration impact and faster backup or restore times. These benefits come from using local storage as tier one for fast access and attaching cloud storage as tier two for unlimited pay-as-you-go storage. CloudAFS also provides CIFSNFS access to EMC Atmos storage with Active Directory integration and strong data encryption. Furthermore, the concurrent licensing model adopted by CloudAFS makes it very practical for the group access scenarios.

IT professionals who need direct desktop access to the cloud can use Gladinet Cloud Desktop. By mapping cloud storage as a secure virtual network drive, Gladinet Cloud Desktop enables users to seamlessly and quickly access, aggregate and backup to the cloud directly from Windows(R) Explorer. Cloud Desktop is fully integrated with EMC Atmos Online Storage, AT&T Synaptic Storage, PEER 1 CloudOne Storage and others.

"The combination of CloudAFS and Cloud Desktop provides a complete access solution for EMC Atmos users. Whether the needs involve expanding storage space, replacing tape backup systems, or supporting various local or remote access scenarios, Gladinet has the answer," said Jerry Huang, CEO of Gladinet. "We are pleased to collaborate with EMC to create products that make their cloud infrastructure more accessible to our joint customer who will experience greater scalability, elasticity and lower costs."
