GiveGab Launches Premium Services for Non-Profits, Colleges and Businesses

Social Network for Volunteers Connects Organizations with Their Communities, by Creating Online Destination for Events, Programs and Opportunities

ITHACA, N.Y., Aug. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — GiveGab, the social network for volunteers, today rolled out Premium services that will allow non-profits, schools and businesses to connect with volunteers by creating and managing online profiles to promote events, programs and opportunities. With a mission to create more, happy volunteers, GiveGab works with organizations looking to fill volunteer positions by connecting them with qualified volunteers.

"We know from research and experience that volunteering allows people to expand their social circles, build certain skill sets, and also have some fun!" said Charlie Mulligan, CEO of GiveGab. "Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for organizations and volunteers to communicate, find opportunities and keep track of their accomplishments, and the new set of tools we're rolling out are going to really help like-minded groups of volunteers and organizations connect."

Since quietly launching in 2011, GiveGab has had more than 1500 non-profits and close to 200 colleges and universities register with the site and begin the search for engaged volunteers. With the new Premium services, organizations using GiveGab can now create in-depth reports on their volunteer activity and engagement, allowing them to quickly quantify their volunteer programs and celebrate their successes.  Premium services add on to GiveGab's already impressive free Basic service of aggregate stats and data provided to volunteer managers.

Created in order to match volunteer opportunities with each individual's skills and passions, GiveGab helps people make a real change in their local communities by connecting them to organizations that align with their interests. After creating an online profile, volunteers can log hours, view opportunities and see where their friends are helping out. Organizations can then recruit and communicate with their volunteers through unified tools such as event calendars, partnership opportunities, virtual rewards and more.

"We've been partners with GiveGab since the very beginning, and it's had an enormous impact on our volunteerism programs," said Ann O'Brien, Assistant Director for Service-Learning and Community Service at Marywood University.  "We're able to not only promote on-campus and off-campus volunteer opportunities for students, but we can now quantify our programs and know where we've been most successful, which programs are most popular and how much of an impact these volunteer hours are making."

Earlier in the year, GiveGab closed a $1.6 million Series A funding, lead by led by Cayuga Venture Fund, Great Oaks Venture Capital, Rand Capital SBIC and Excell Partners. GiveGab has put this financing round to good use, building out the website's premium services capabilities as well as beginning work on a mobile app, which will be available later in the year.
