FuzziBunz® Cloth Diapers Survive the Shark Tank

LAFAYETTE, La., Oct. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — On September 28, 2012, Tereson Dupuy, the founder of FuzziBunz®, pitched her business and patented product to the billionaire investors on the hit reality TV show, Shark Tank. While Dupuy didn't come out of the "tank" with a deal, she says she came out having one of the "best experiences" of her life.

"I will forever be thankful to ABC and the Sharks for giving me the chance to share FuzziBunz® cloth diapers with so many American consumers. This experience has opened up my business to many opportunities and possibilities to come!" says Dupuy, who is known as the Mother of the Modern Cloth Diaper and has been a pioneer in the modern cloth diapering movement since she invented and patented the FuzziBunz® pocket-style cloth diaper in 2000.

Dupuy says she knew before going into the "shark tank" that there were various challenges in her business that might impact her ability to secure a deal.

"I was not going to let those challenges deter me from sharing the exciting modern cloth diapering community with mainstream America," adds Dupuy. "I did not hold back. I shared the good stuff and the true challenges of being a business owner today. I let the chips fall as they may," she adds.

While fans who tuned in saw that Dupuy didn't get a deal, she says she believes the experience was just another step in the right direction for FuzziBunz® and that continued success is ahead.

"I am determined more than ever to build upon the momentum created by my appearance on Shark Tank and make FuzziBunz® a household name. I already have a plan in place that will continue to boost FuzziBunz® in the aftermath of my Shark Tank appearance," she says.

About FuzziBunz®

Known as the "gold standard in cloth diapering," the patented FuzziBun® cloth diapers are a modern, convenient and sustainable diapering solution for today's busy parents. The reusable pocket cloth diapers ensure no leaks, no rash and no waste. FuzziBunz® diapers include three layers: 1) a waterproof outer barrier to keep wetness contained, 2) a soft microfleece inner layer that touches a baby's skin and pulls away moisture, and 3) a unique, pocket-style opening that enables a parent to customize the absorbency using super absorbent micro-terrycloth pads. Stay-at-home-mom, Tereson Dupuy, invented FuzziBunz® in January 1999 in response to her infant son's chronic diaper rash and her overall dissatisfaction with all available diapers.  Tereson stitched the first FuzziBunz® in her home and in 2000, the modern cloth diapering movement was born.
