AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 17, 2012 — The Professional Development Center (PDC) at The University of Texas at Austin is proud to announce a new collaboration with FranklinCovey, a global leader in professional consulting and training, to offer a series of courses and workshops through PDC. The training courses will be designed specifically for PDC clients and will include such topics as leadership, productivity and developing greater workplace effectiveness.

"The Professional Development Center is committed to offering the very best professional training available anywhere in Texas or in the world," states Liliya Spinazzola, director of the PDC. "Therefore, to collaborate with FranklinCovey on behalf of our clients is a very natural fit. Like PDC, the name FranklinCovey promises high-quality, world-class training. We are very proud to work with FranklinCovey to offer exceptional training resources to our clients."

The first FranklinCovey course to be offered by PDC is "Franklin Covey – The 5 Choices to Extraordinary Productivity" on March 20-21. In this course, participants learn how to cut through daily distractions to focus on their most important objectives. This two-day workshop helps participants plan their day, week and life to maximize productivity in every area of their lives. According to the PDC Website, "the difference between sinking and soaring is our ability to make wise choices. Backed by science and years of experience, this course will produce a measurable increase in productivity and an inner sense of fulfillment and accomplishment."

Participants receive training on how to follow-through on the following 5 "choices" to make every day more productive and meaningful.

  • Staying focused on what's most important
  • Setting high-achieving goals for extraordinary results
  • Creating more effective weekly and daily plans
  • Building reliable technology tools and processes – e-mail, calendaring – that support success.
  • Maintaining mental, physical, emotional and spiritual energy

Registration is now open on the PDC Website (http://www.utexas.edu/ce/pdc) for this course. All FranklinCovey programs available through PDC will be presented at the Thompson Conference Center on the university campus.
