ROCHESTER, N.Y., Nov. 19, 2010 — Recently, researchers discovered that quercetin, a key ingredient in the natural antiviral supplement Gene-Eden, may be beneficial against the flu virus.
The flu virus causes a deadly disease, killing about 40 thousand people annually in the U.S. alone. Worldwide, almost half a million people die as a result of this virus.
Researchers at the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology studied the effect of quercetin on the flu virus using a cytopathic effect reduction method. The research showed that quercetin has a strong anti-influenza effect.
