Fanfare Mobile Introduces RemodelerBuzz for Contractors and Designers

Mobile marketing system gives remodelers and designers a new tool to generate neighborhood buzz

LEXINGTON, Ky., Jan. 10, 2011 — Fanfare Mobile today announced the launch of its RemodelerBuzz (http://www.remodelerbuzz.com) marketing platform for remodelers, contractors and designers. The service allows these home improvement professionals to easily generate more work in the neighborhoods of current and past customers by utilizing text message marketing and the mobile Web. RemodelerBuzz lets contractors add a text message keyword to their jobsite yard signs that entices passers-by to interact and learn more about the remodel or design project. Text message marketing is experiencing explosive growth, used successfully in such diverse industries and live entertainment, real estate and retail.

"Home improvement professionals struggle to find the most cost effective marketing method to generate leads from customers that truly appreciate the craftsmanship they can deliver," said Fanfare CEO Michael Vincent. "It's well known in the industry that the best leads come from referrals by past customers. By allowing prospective customers to view photos and read commentary from those satisfied customers, RemodelerBuzz is the best way for home improvement professionals to generate new business in the surrounding community. Rather than having their mailboxes jammed with direct mail, doorknobs cluttered with marketing collateral, or having their evenings interrupted by canvassers or telemarketers, RemodelerBuzz lets neighbors interact on their own terms."

Using the RemodelerBuzz service, contractors add project information and photos to the system and then create a keyword to associate with the project. A few days later they receive a durable and re-usable aluminum sign rider to attach to their existing jobsite signs. The sign rider contains the keyword that lets passers-by instantly receive project information.

For those prospective customers with Web-enabled smart phones, the RemodelerBuzz text message contains a one-touch link to the mobile project page. If the prospective customer doesn't have a Web-capable phone, or would just rather view the full-size project page at home, they can reply with their e-mail address to receive a link to access later.

Effectiveness of Mobile Marketing

According to CTIA Wireless, in June 2009 there were 275 million wireless subscribers in the United States, representing 89% of the total population. In that same month, approximately 1 trillion SMS text messages were sent and received. And, for the first time, wireless subscribers in the 35-44 year age group sent and received just as many text messages as phone calls. With no special software to download, SMS messages can be sent and received by all mobile phones and as such are the easiest way for businesses to connect with the largest possible audience.
