ExteNet Systems Utilizes Its Distributed EPC Solution to Expand 4G-LTE Coverage for Inland Cellular

New cellular network improves coverage in eastern Washington and north central Idaho

CHICAGO, June 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — ExteNet Systems, Inc., the leading independent provider of distributed networks enabling advanced wireless connectivity in North America, today announced its partnership with Inland Cellular to augment Inland Cellular's 4G-LTE services across eastern Washington and north central Idaho.

ExteNet delivered a carrier-class distributed network for Inland Cellular leveraging ExteNet's mNETTM distributed evolved packet core (EPC) service offering and Nokia's radio access network (RAN) infrastructure. ExteNet's EPC based cellular networks, which allow for rapid time-to-market and cost-effective deployment of 4G-LTE services in rural areas, serve as a highly flexible and effective alternative to traditional or legacy infrastructure deployments.

"Our partnership with Inland Cellular is an example of the unique approach ExteNet takes to help carriers rapidly scale up their networks and deliver LTE service to rural areas, with a migration path to 5G," said Jason Osborne, Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Initiatives at ExteNet. ExteNet's distributed network architecture provides versatility and scalability to address the escalating need for smarter 5G ready networks. The distributed EPC functionality provides flexibility and enhanced performance to support a number of deployment options and use cases including, but not limited to, standalone rural networks, private and virtual private wireless networks, network expansion and wireless roaming, integrated LTE and Wi-Fi networks, neutral-host small cell networks and networks supporting the Internet of Things (IOT). The ability to operate with a RAN-agnostic partner like ExteNet enhances the flexibility and service options for a wide variety of rural carriers that need 4G-LTE networks today.
