Prior to founding idRADAR, he was a senior executive with Time Warner Cable and served as president of its national division. Tom was also president of Time Warner Cable's Full Service Network, leading the development of the world's first interactive television system. The Full Service Network developed the first consumer video-on-demand, high speed Internet access, digital telephone, interactive multi-player games and other digital services.

The idea of idRADAR emanated from Rentz's own personal identity theft problems. He and Tom Feige came up with the idea of idRADAR as a service for other identity theft victims and for companies of all sizes.

Rentz is a veteran of more than 30 years in the cable television industry where he was both vice president of customer operations and vice president of marketing for Time Warner's National Division.
