eWay Furniture Voted as Favorite Store in Shopping for a Cause Boys & Girls Club Tournament

FREDERICKSBURG, Texas, Sept. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — The national election is nine weeks away but the votes have already been cast in the Ninth Annual Shopping for a Cause Boys & Girls Club FUNdraiser Tournament held Sept. 7-8. For the second year in a row, eWay Furniture (www.ewayfurniture.com), an online based store that sells deeply discounted high-end furniture nationwide, was the shoppers' choice for favorite store.

Meeting the Challenges

"It's a compliment to us, but we just do what we do in terms of customer service," said Phil Provost, co-owner of eWay Furniture, at its brick and mortar location in this small tourist town located 70 miles west of Austin. "We have a real eclectic mix of home decor products and furniture at the lowest prices in the country. People constantly tell us how different our prices are compared to other stores. The shoppers' vote for their favorite store has something to do with our pricing, and also hospitality. We serve lunch, wine and drinks.  Our employees said it's their favorite weekend to work."

In it's 9th year, Shopping for a Cause is a signature fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of the Texas Hill Country.  In this highly anticipated tournament style fundraiser, everyone wins as over 100 motivated shoppers stimulate the local economy, while taking advantage of steep discounts, refreshments, and Texas hospitality.  Participating stores and shoppers pay an entry fee to the Boys and Girls Club, and many give personal donations as well.  At the end of the day teams of shoppers vote for their favorite store, and stores in turn cast votes for their favorite team of shoppers.

Since 2004, eWay Furniture has been carving their niche in the retail furniture market by offering hand selected, high quality, designer furniture on average 40% below retail prices.  In 2010 they brought the same business model to Fredericksburg, TX, complimenting their online business with a bricks and mortar store.  Describing their inspiration for the store, Phil Provost says, "We've combined our passion for finding extreme values, with our knack for purchasing interesting, conversation-starting pieces, and stocked our store from floor to ceiling with the neatest stuff around. People find shopping in our store is an experience, kind of like a treasure hunt!"

How You Can Help

According to its website, the Boys & Girls Club offers field-tested programs that teach young people skills necessary to succeed in life. They address issues facing today's youth, from a positive focus on career development, athletics and arts education to preventative programs that steer youth away from alcohol, drugs, pregnancy and gangs. Each Club has also developed special initiatives to meet the needs of its members.

The Boys & Girls Club reminds us that it just takes one person to make a difference in the life of a child. Your financial support and the gift of your time can have a lasting influence. There are several ways to support the Shopping for a Cause Tournament by making in kind donations and giving your time because every Club needs volunteers. Kids need mentors that will share their lives and listen to them. Adults are needed to give homework help, read to kids, teach a skill and open their stores for a tour.

Next Event Planned

Work has already begun on planning the 10th Annual Shopping for a Cause FUNdraiser, benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Fredericksburg, September 13-14, 2013.

So will eWay Furniture go for three wins in a row next year?

"We'll try it," added Phil Provost. "The main thing is supporting the Boys & Girls Club."
