eSchool Media Readers Vote Shakespeare In Bits One of the Best Ed-Tech Products of the Year

DUBLIN, Jan. 10, 2012 — MindConnex Learning has announced that it has been named a winner of the eSchool Media Readers' Choice Awards for having one of the year's best K-12 ed-tech products or services for its Shakespeare In Bits series.

Nominated by the readers and visitors of eSchool News, eCampus News and eClassroom News, the eSchool Media Readers' Choice Awards recognizes the ed-tech products and services with which readers have enjoyed the most success.

Speaking on the award, Michael Cordner, CEO of MindConnex Learning, said, "It is such an honor to be nominated for the eSchool Media Readers' Choice Awards by English teachers who are actually using Shakespeare In Bits in their classrooms and experiencing the benefits from both an educator and student point-of-view."

Voting for the awards took place in October 2011 during which 1,400 readers provided their top picks for K-20 school hardware, software, websites and services, describing how they are using these products to improve teaching, learning or school administration and to what effect.

One English teacher from Maryland who taught Shakespeare In Bits: Romeo & Juliet to an eighth grade class claimed that the students read with far greater comprehension than they would have by reading the traditional paper text: "The difference in their understanding, enjoyment, and ability to analyze is tremendous. It is a wonderful example of how technology isn't a distraction, but a real, powerful force to help students understand and engage with material." Another teacher wrote, "In my 14 years of teaching, this is by far the best resource to use with students for teaching Shakespeare. I have had great feedback from my students."

Cordner continued, "At MindConnex Learning, we want to revolutionize the way students interact with and study Shakespeare by fusing together animation, professional audio and original text, so that students can listen, read and watch the works of the famous bard simultaneously, and enhance their personalized learning experiences through integrated notes and inline translations of complicated words, enabling them to study at their own pace. Very simply, we are bringing Shakespeare into the 21st Century and providing teachers with the ability to bring the bard to life for their students in their classrooms".

MindConnex Learning is currently offering teachers the opportunity to trial and teach with Shakespeare In Bits Live!, the online version of the popular app series, which can be taught in-class and accessed from any location by students. This trial is limited to one play and one class per school for four weeks. For more information, please visit http://www.mindconnex.com.
