"I spoke with Shelter Coordinator, Anna Coleman this week and I know we can help," said Eric C. Conn of the Eric C. Conn Law Firm.  "The need is ongoing and if everyone can just help by donating one item or monetary donation each month it will be greatly appreciated."

WestCare is provided for those that fall on hard times and need refuge. Homeless individuals constantly are in a fight for life against death. WestCare is designed specifically to be temporary homes providing for those that have fallen on hard times an opportunity to get back into the workforce. Circumstances for entering the homeless shelter include but are not limited to: health complications, unpaid bills, or a missed paycheck.

WestCare does not just provide shelter, but also offer a variety of services including job training, rehab for drug addicts, and soup kitchens. In the United States the Department of Housing and Urban Development has shown in recent studies that about 5 million Americans qualify to take advantage of homeless shelters.  As poverty levels continue to climb, it is estimated that the number of homeless shelters, in particular in the United States, will continue to rise.

All of the money or donations go directly to the shelter.  No money from donations will be used to sponsor advertising efforts for the shelter.  Our significant contributor the Eric C. Conn Law Firm has given generously to the shelter and has agreed to sponsor fundraising for the shelter," said Anna Coleman Shelter Coordinator.

Donations may take various forms, including cash offering, services, new or used goods including clothing, toys, food, and supplies.  The shelter seeks your help during this holiday season to help those who are less fortunate.

You many send or bring by all donations to the WestCare Emergency Shelter, 173 Redale Road, Pikeville, Kentucky 41501 or you may call the shelter at 1-606-432-9442.
