EPA Names Energy Inspectors(TM) Corporation 2010 ENERGY STAR(R) Partner of the Year

Energy Inspectors Earns Fourth Consecutive National Award for Protecting the Environment Through Energy Efficiency

WASHINGTON, March 9, 2010 — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named Energy Inspectors Corporation as a 2010 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for its outstanding contributions to residential energy efficiency resulting in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by millions of pounds annually, and saving millions of kilowatt hours of energy annually through its work as a Home Energy Rating company. Energy Inspector's accomplishments will be recognized at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., on March 18, 2010.

Energy Inspectors, an ENERGY STAR partner since 1999, is being honored for their work in qualifying new homes to earn the ENERGY STAR label. Home Energy Raters provide the evaluation, testing, and independent verification required for ENERGY STAR qualified homes. An early participant and national leader in residential energy efficiency and green building, Energy Inspectors has earned the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award an unprecedented 4 consecutive years, 2007 through 2010, having certified over 100,000 homes as energy efficient.

"In today's economy, homebuyers are looking for value, and the energy-efficient homes that earn the ENERGY STAR provide that extra value," said Galo LeBron, CEO of Energy Inspectors. "Homes built to ENERGY STAR standards are more comfortable and provide a healthier indoor environment, plus they ensure long-term savings on energy bills while protecting the environment. This is a 'win-win' situation for all of us, and for our nation."

The 2010 Partner of the Year Awards are given to a variety of organizations to recognize significant contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and saving energy by promoting the building of energy-efficient homes. Award winners were selected from more than 17,000 organizations that participate in the ENERGY STAR program. Currently more than 8500 builders across the nation are constructing homes that meet EPA's strict guidelines for energy efficiency. More than one million American families now live in ENERGY STAR qualified homes.

Last year alone Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved $17 billion on their energy bills and reduced greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those of 30 million vehicles.

"More homebuyers are choosing ENERGY STAR qualified homes across America thanks to partners like Energy Inspectors Corporation," said Gina McCarthy, EPA Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation. "The knowledge and expertise of Energy Inspectors in making homes more energy efficient has made a significant contribution to a reduction in our nation's energy consumption and exemplifies sustained excellence in energy savings".
