Enjoy a Luxury Vacation and Help Pediatric AIDS and Breast Cancer Organizations

CHICAGO, March 23, 2010 — For A Cause has been organizing luxury fundraising vacations dubbed "fund-cations" since 2001. In 2010, vacationers will travel to Spain, spend a week in a 15th century castle, once the home to Queen Juana of Aragon and her son Ferdinand, and help children with AIDS or Breast Cancer organizations.

The Spain Event, September 26 – October 2, 2010, is a combination walking and cycling event. Participants choose to either walk up to 60 miles, cycle up to 300 miles, or do a combination of both. "Participants can even stay in the lap of luxury and spend their days at the castle, relaxing by the pool and reading a good book if they are so inclined," said organizer, Rob Webber. The event is structured much like any other multi-day fundraising event, participants decide if they want to walk or ride then raise money for their beneficiary, but that is where the similarities end and the luxury begins. "I realized a long time ago, I did not need to sleep in tents, shower in trucks, or use a port-a-jon for a week to show my commitment to my cause," said returning participant George Cominskie. "I can raise the money, put in the miles and still get a good night's sleep. I can even send up to 100% of my collected donations to the beneficiaries."

Accommodations for Spain are at Castell Sant Mori, originally built during the 12th and 13th centuries. The castle has three floors, a gardened terrace, and a swimming pool. All 10-bedrooms feature unique furnishings and decor inspired by the castle's history. The bedrooms, a combination of twin or king beds, offer private accommodations in this group setting. The castle is located at Sant Mori, in the Ampurdan district of the Gerona province. This rural village of 120 inhabitants is located 20 km from Figueras, the capital of Ampurdan.

There are three different registration options, which provide for a very reasonably priced trip. Two options come with varying minimum fundraising requirements while the third has no required minimum fundraising. The options also allow up to 100% of the participant's donations to go to the beneficiaries and not pay for the participant's event expenses, and thus not pay for their vacation.

In 2009, participants on the Ireland Event stayed at Ross Castle in County Galway, with formal gardens, indoor swimming pool, and 90 acres of manicured lawns. The property has been featured in magazines and newspapers depicting the elegance and grandeur of the property. Participants enjoyed homed cooked meals prepared by the castle staff, and raised $38,000.00 for AIDS, breast cancer and many other organizations.
