End-of-Year Action Plans: New Club Z! Offers Students a Way to Repair Grades, Rebuild Academic Potential

Owner and Area Director Lewis Malburne brings educational resources to students, parents, and teachers in Northern MA and Southern NH

DRACUT, Mass., June 7, 2011 — The end of the school year is always a time of great concern to parents of struggling students: Will they pass, or graduate with their class? What will that final report card look like? Can they catch up to grade level during the summer holidays?

Despite the help teachers try to give, the fact remains that they must spread their attention across an entire classroom of pupils – a classroom that is all-too-often already overcrowded. Lacking in the individual attention and support needed to catch up and gather confidence and motivation, many students fall further and further behind. Parents often try to help, but may simply be too emotionally involved in the problem to be effective. Luckily, the right tutoring program has the power to permanently transform a student's study skills – boosting their academic confidence and giving them the jump-start needed to reach toward academic success.

With a 23-year background in the high-tech industry, Lewis Malburne knows the importance of continually improving one's own education and skill set – a consideration that directly led to his decision to open a Club Z! In-Home Tutoring Services branch in his own community. "The idea of helping students achieve their goals in school and being a resource for parents and the school system appealed to me," he states.

Club Z!'s offerings are unique in several ways – in fact, the program is the largest in North America to focus on providing one-on-one, in-home tutoring. The security and familiarity of the home environment make it easier for children to concentrate and help tutors eliminate distractions, and the individual attention means that the program can be tailored to a student's exact academic needs. Flexible scheduling, regular progress reports, and high success rates make Club Z! even more popular with parents, who can easily see that their child is receiving the high-quality, one-on-one attention they need and deserve. Tutors are pre-screened experts in their subject areas, well-qualified to help students catch up to grade level and reach beyond.

Mr. Malburne is bringing this hope of better grades and more solid academic achievement home to local students and families. His Club Z! location will serve Dracut, Massachussetts, as well as the towns of Pelham, Salem, Windham, and Atkinson, New Hampshire, and can provide tutoring in all academic subject areas to students of all ages and abilities. Club Z! also offers standardized test preparation assistance and help with study skills and organization.

"One particular specialty of the new branch will be helping students prepare for the MCAS (Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System)," Mr. Malburne notes. In fact, when it comes to standardized test preparation, whether for the MCAS or college entrance exams such as the SAT and ACT, developing a study program and learning test-taking skills and strategies can be crucial to maximizing scores.

An area resident for many decades, Mr. Malburne is glad to be running his own business again and enthusiastic about his new endeavor. "Knowing you can have a positive effect on people's lives is a great feeling," he concludes. "That is why I decided to be a part of Club Z!"

In honor of the Dracut Club Z! grand opening, registration fees have been waived for all new clients. For additional information about Club Z!
