Employment Law Firm Outten & Golden Announces Promotion of Three Lawyers in New York City Office

Rachel M. Bien, Cara E. Greene, and Ossai Miazad elected to partnership effective January 1, 2013

NEW YORK, Jan. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Employment law firm Outten & Golden LLP announced today the promotion of Rachel M. Bien, Cara E. Greene, and Ossai Miazad to its partnership, effective January 1, 2013. All three are based in the firm's New York City office.

Rachel M. Bien is a co-chair of the firm's Class & Collective Action Practice Group. Her practice focuses on complex multi-plaintiff litigation, including hybrid wage-and-hour class and collective actions and Title VII discrimination class actions.

Ms. Bien graduated cum laude from Brooklyn Law School and joined Outten & Golden LLP in October 2006, after serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Thomas G. Nelson on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is admitted to practice in the state of New York, the district courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Bien was recognized as a Rising Star in 2012 by Super Lawyers in the category of Employment Litigation for the Plaintiff.

Cara E. Greene is co-chair of the firm's Family Responsibilities and Disability Discrimination Practice Group and also is active in the Financial Services and Executives and Professionals Practice Groups. Ms. Greene represents employees in litigation and negotiation in all areas of employment law, including contracts and compensation; lawyers as clients; discrimination class actions; whistleblowing; and discrimination based on disability, pregnancy, and family responsibilities.

Ms. Greene received her B.A. in political studies from Gordon College, where she was an A.J. Gordon Scholar, and her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in the state of New York, the district courts for the Southern, Northern, Eastern, and Western Districts of New York, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Greene was recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers for 2012 in the category of Employment & Labor.

Ossai Miazad is co-chair of the firm's Discrimination and Retaliation Practice Group and also is active in the firm's Class & Collective Action Practice Group and Family Responsibilities and Disability Discrimination Practice Group. Ms. Miazad represents employees in class action discrimination and wage-and-hour cases, as well as individual litigation and negotiation in all areas of employment law, including cases involving discrimination, harassment, and retaliation and executive and professional contracts and compensation.

Ms. Miazad received her B.A. from Vassar College and received her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law. She is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the District of Columbia.
