Eco Author Touts Green Sci-Fi Thriller Screenplay

Celebrity trainer turns page-turning novel into a screenplay

VENICE BEACH, Calif., June 24, 2010 — Just as the crisis of the Great Depression unlocked the imagination of writers who created the very first superheroes beginning with Superman, contemporary environmental concerns have brought forth Pollen, the first Eco-superhero for the 21st century. And with the epic Gulf of Mexico oil leak offering an uncanny parallel, a heroic character like Pollen would certainly be most welcome today.

Based on his book, Pollen and the Ring of Harmony, author Francis T. Perry Williams has announced the completion of the related screenplay and his plans to offer it to Hollywood producers. Williams, who has appeared on popular sitcoms such as "Laverne & Shirley" and wrote one of the episodes, is also a certified personal trainer who counts a number of Hollywood stars as his clients.

Pollen is a deep space visitor who comes to earth to bring to its citizens the message that our planet is facing destruction unless we learn to live in harmony with nature. In the face of certain environmental collapse, Pollen, along with the help of a mysterious, powerful living ring, sets out to warn the president of the United States and the world. But that ring, with its amazing transformative powers is in danger of falling into the hands of the greedy vice-president, whose own plans to dominate the world are within his grasp.

Williams explained that Ring of Harmony (ISBN 13-978-1934572-99-3, Emerald) presents a timely message wrapped in an entertaining package. "The message of Pollen has been designed to raise awareness that we need to be proactive in addressing critical environmental issues. Earth is a very special place and must be protected by caring inhabitants or we risk losing the only place we call home. Living in harmony with nature leads to happier and more fulfilling lives; who wouldn't want that?"
