HOUSTON, April 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — DNV GL – Business Assurance and QPS Evaluation Services, Inc. (Toronto) have signed a cooperation agreement for services related to testing and certification of equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Under the terms of this agreement, QPS can provide product testing and inspection services to DNV GL to US, Canadian or international standards, and product certification for hazardous location equipment to North American standards. In turn, DNV GL can provide quality management system audits for the ATEX, IECEx and INMETRO certification programs; INMETRO product certification for hazardous locations; and advisory services related to CE certification for other EU Directives such as the Pressure Equipment Directive and Machinery Directive.
The aim is to provide the customers of both QPS and DNV GL a more streamlined process for their hazardous location testing and certification needs, by being able to use the high level of technical expertise present in both organizations. QPS and DNV GL are also very active in the international IECEx certification scheme and in the development of hazardous location equipment standards in North America and through the IEC.
