MEMPHIS, Tenn., Oct. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Following the tragic infections of two hospital staff and subsequent tracking of hundreds of people related to Ebola, hospitals around the country are requiring TRU-D SmartUVC, a portable automated UVC disinfection robot which accurately measures required dosage, be added to Ebola protocols.

As major hospitals like O'Connor Hospital in San Jose, California; San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, New Mexico; and Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, South Carolina, prepare their health care staff to handle Ebola patients, the hospitals' nursing and housekeeping teams are deploying TRU-D to disinfect any area of the hospital that could potentially be exposed to the virus. TRU-D's unique and patented ability to measure dose means 100 percent of the room has been disinfected.

Using other UV systems, such as pulse light that does not measure UVC dose, results in only a portion of the room being disinfected at best.
