Custom Search Engine Creator WebKite Takes Sites to New Heights of Organic Traffic and Growth

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — WebKite, a custom search engine creator that launched on July 27, 2012, has created over a hundred Kites (WebKite powered sites) that have seen more than a million pageviews and substantial growth. WebKite transforms a set of data into an interactive search engine complete with user generated top ten lists, item comparisons, and personalized results.

WebKite powers hundreds of Kites across the web, many of which are hosted at Pikimal.com and DrinkStreet.com. Since WebKite launched, it has helped Pikimal.com see a total over one million unique pageviews. The DrinkStreet Kite has seen over 100,000 unique visitors since August 22, 2012.

WebKite helps sites grow by turning data into lists and produces fresh content, a factor that heavily impacts how often sites appear in search engines, as seen in this infographic on the impact of fresh content on search traffic. In addition, user generated lists, reviews, and ratings help content rise to the top of search results to help niche sites find their audience and capitalize on their data.

"Since DrinkStreet started using the WebKite platform, we've ranked high for search terms that we've never placed for before," Chris Casey, owner of DrinkStreet, said. "In the two months since we launched WebKite content, we've had days where the majority of our traffic — tens of thousands of users — came to us through WebKite generated content."

WebKite is currently working with a number of clients to have their Kites up in the air. For more information, please visit www.webkite.com or contact Dan Tallarico, dan@webkite.com, for questions, comments, or interviews. Press resources can be found at www.webkite.com/pressroom.
