"Natalie is a great poster child for the program," said Jennifer Crittenden, Block's coach. "She put in considerable effort and was able to reap substantial rewards. I am honored to have been part of her on-going success."

Natalie is pursuing an MPA and Master's in International Studies. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Washington with degrees in International Studies and French. She will be teaching International Justice in the Netherlands this summer. She hopes to pursue a career with the State Department or in politics.

"The Executive Presence Program is a wonderful fit for any woman at any stage in her career because the program can be specifically altered to support your needs. I anticipated that the program would help me learn little tricks or tips; I did not anticipate that what I learned could be so important and applicable to all aspects of my life," said Block.

"Professionals are told that 'presence' is key to their success, but there is little training about how to manage perceptions," said Crittenden. "This program breaks it down into informed observations, tactical exercises, and teachable behaviors. It incorporates techniques athletes use to improve performance, and actors use to develop stage presence. It's about creating, not conforming, so each participant's outcome is unique. It's a process of self-discovery but can also increase your promotability and compensation."

About the program:

Creating Executive Presence includes assessments of authority, credibility, authenticity, trust, composure, and confidence. Lessons address voice, body language, social and language skills, and context-specific behaviors are studied and practiced. Individual coaching is provided in six 90-minute video-Skype sessions from anywhere in the world, followed by readings and exercises, including audio and video analysis. The program handbook also addresses derailers, humor, stage fright, and pre-performance rituals. Register at http://www.discreetguide.com/executive-presence/.
