Best College Reviews Names The Top 50 Science Research Universities

GRANDVILLE, Mich., March 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Best College Reviews, a ranking service for American colleges and universities, has released a list of the top 50 science research universities. Data gathered from university websites regarding undergraduate opportunities, research centers, and funding were used to create the ranking. The ranking can be viewed here: http://www.bestcollegereviews.org/top-research-universities/.

In the midst of examining research universities in our country two facts became apparent: there are many universities conducting amazing research in a variety of fields but some research universities do not provide opportunities to undergraduates.  Also of interest were unique research centers in terms of design, focus, or location.  For example, Oregon State University, whose campus is located in Corvallis, has an incredible research center on the coast in Newport called the Hatfield Marine Science Center.  These ideas, combined with relevant funding data, seemed a great combination that could open doors to undergraduates who will indeed become the next generation of leaders in discovery.

Nick Plato, the article's author, said this about the list: "Research is of vital interest to the progress of humanity.  Identifying leading research universities in regards to undergraduate opportunities and research centers seemed a needed task as every potential scientist and researcher is an undergraduate at some point.  Knowing where opportunities abound is a required resource in the noble pursuit of knowledge for the sake of mankind."
