Click Effects Drives New Excitement at Toyota Center

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — The Houston Toyota Center – now home to what is the largest indoor screen in the United States – debuted twelve new Click Effects systems as the Houston Rockets opened their 2012-2013 NBA season on Saturday, November 3.  The systems installed at Houston's premier live entertainment venue include five CrossFire systems, five Blaze systems, and two BackDraft systems which serve as backup systems for CrossFire and Blaze systems.

Click Effects has worked together with the Toyota Center and Panasonic to present a spectacular display of video, audio, CG, and statistical wizardry on the brand new Panasonic LED screens.  A combination of Click Effects systems is used to control the main video board, the two side boards, the upper rings, and six advertisement signs. Additionally, an older, pre-existing Daktronics 360 LED screen is remotely controlled by Click Effects systems.

"Our ability to provide innovative, state-of-the art solutions for the Toyota Center reflects a fantastic team effort," beamed Cliff Wight, V.P. of Sound & Video Creations, Inc. "From the venue staff, to the integrators, and especially to our Click Effects team; this team effort has raised the bar for live event presentation at any venue."

Four channels of CrossFire are remotely controlled by a Ross Switcher via VDCP over Ethernet offering an invaluable amount of synchronization and automation.  With a single button, the look of the main video board can be changed using a keyed transition wipe from one of the CrossFire systems, going from full-screen live video to a configuration of stats on each side and two angles of replays.

To offer the Houston Rockets production staff an intuitive, easy-to-use interface for displaying automatically updating stats fields, Click Effects created a customized interface to DTVI, the NBA statistical system.

The Click Effects systems are also used to generate two channels of concourse TV branding (L-bar displays), and continuous, 24/7 scheduled content for the outdoor marquee sign. Because of the ease-of-use of the Click Effects systems the Toyota Center now has unprecedented control of and synchronization between video production, LED scoreboards, concourse TV broadcast, and marquee signage.

The high-quality production and coordinated content at the Toyota Center is a winner for the fans, the franchise, and advertisers alike.  The level of production is unmatched in any other indoor sports facility. The future of live event presentation will undoubtedly be affected by the advances put forth by everyone involved with the new look-and-feel at the Toyota Center – thanks in no small part to the advances in the family of systems known as Click Effects.
