"People are faced with making decisions amid competing choices on a daily basis," says Leigh Raup, resident Public Relations Lead at Choozum. "We created Choozum with consumers in mind such that choice-making is more social, fun, convenient, engaging and quick. People who use Choozum rely on its qualitative and quantitative core, and that's truly the underpinning value in our service."

The popularity of crowdsourcing votes, also known as "community polling," seems to be gaining interest among the social media and networking communities. Companies offering social decision-making services like Choozum have increased over the past year. Choozum cites that its service is unique in the way invitations are generated with regards to private and public permissions; leveraging the largest social network platform, Facebook, as a distribution mechanism. Choozum users can invite one, many or all Facebook friends to a survey, and each Facebook friend is instantly notified of the request. Survey responses are delivered back to the survey author immediately. In addition, the company stated they focused on both utility and entertainment value, in accordance with the usage patterns of its member base. While users wait to receive votes for surveys they've created and shared, they can also peruse any of 34 vertical categories, such as Fashion, Personal Style, Travel, and Celebrity, to cast votes on other Choozum members' surveys.

Choozum began introducing its service across university campuses throughout the United States earlier this year. The company's founders claim early adoption has been overwhelming particularly in the Greek life communities at schools such as Stanford and University of Pennsylvania. Choozum is free and available today in the iTunes Store and on their website ). People invited to participate in a Choozum survey do not require membership or the Choozum app in order to respond.
