Center for Plastic Surgery Celebrates 30 Years of Service to Washington, D.C. Area Patients

Plastic surgeons at the award-winning practice reflect on developments in cosmetic surgery since 1986; offer special savings to commemorate anniversary

WASHINGTON, June 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Thirty years is an impressive milestone for any business, but the board certified plastic surgeons at the Center for Plastic Surgery say that a shared passion for helping patients feel happier about their appearance has been the secret to their success. The plastic surgery practice and skincare clinic, with locations in northern Virginia and Maryland, celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2016.

Looking back on 30 years of plastic surgery in Washington, D.C.
Center for Plastic Surgery (CPS) was established in 1986, when Dr. Albert F. Fleury Jr. (now retired), Dr. James H. French and Dr. G. Wesley Price combined their plastic surgery practices and opened an office in Annandale, Virginia. A private, on-site operating suite, accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, was added in 1988, making CPS one of the first full-service plastic surgery centers in the nation.

"The plastic surgery patient experience has changed significantly since 1986," says Dr. French. "Back then, procedures were almost always performed in a hospital; there were few practices where patients could have their consultation, surgery, and follow-up treatments in one location. Financing for cosmetic surgery was practically unheard-of. Today, private operating suites are much more the norm, and financing options have provided access to aesthetic care for a greater variety of patients."

Over the last 30 years, CPS has grown to include a full range of skin and injectable treatments, such as BOTOX® Cosmetic, as well as non-invasive body contouring and facial rejuvenation services. The practice has also opened a second office in Chevy Chase, MD, where patients can schedule surgery consultations and skin care treatments. In 2013, Dr. Samir Rao was invited to join the original three CPS "docs."

"Working with Drs. French, Price, and Fleury has been the best situation I could have hoped for. As colleagues, we can build on one another's surgical knowledge and experience," explains Dr. Rao. "This not only helps each of us develop more effective treatment plans for our patients, but also cultivates an environment of collaboration and congeniality that patients appreciate."

Drs. French and Price agree that this friendly, team-oriented culture has helped to keep patients returning to CPS. "We have an incredibly loyal patient base—some have been coming to us for their aesthetic care since we opened our doors 30 years ago," notes Dr. Price.

Decades of award-winning service in Washington, D.C.
CPS was voted "Best Cosmetic Surgery Practice" for 2015 & 2016 by Virginia Living magazine. Drs. French and Price have been included in Washingtonian's list of top docs every year the list has been issued since the late 1980s. Drs. Rao and Price were both selected as 2015 Top Doctors on RealSelf, an online aesthetic care resource and community with more than 10 million users.

Special 15% savings on cosmetic procedures to mark the occasion
The CPS surgeons are celebrating their 30th anniversary by offering 15% off the regular surgeon's fees for all cosmetic surgery procedures performed through September 30.

"Our patients are our priority; they are the reason we chose to become plastic surgeons and the reason that CPS has enjoyed such enduring success over the years," says Dr. French.
