Cartoon Network Magazine Arrives in the Middle East

Teshkeel Media Group Announces Partnership With TimeWarner's Cartoon Network

KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait, Dec. 13, 2007 — Teshkeel Media Group, KSC, today announced a partnership with Cartoon Network – the leading animation channel for kids – to publish Arabic and English versions of Cartoon Network Magazine in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The agreement was announced by Naif Al-Mutawa, CEO of Teshkeel, and Jason Rice, Northern European Territory Manager for Cartoon Network.

Under the terms of the agreement, Teshkeel will publish 9 issues of Cartoon Network Magazine a year, bringing popular characters such as Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Dexter's Laboratory, and Codename: Kids Next Door to newsstands in the MENA region. Each 32-page issue will include comics, puzzles, games, and give-aways targeted at boys and girls ages 6-12.

"Working with Cartoon Network will allow us to expose young readers in the Middle East and North Africa to a world of characters that are both fun and entertaining," said Al-Mutawa. "Cartoon Network has a long history of entertaining children with its unique programming, and we're proud to be working with them to pass that same sense of excitement on to children in our region."

Rice added, "We are thrilled to be partnering with Teshkeel to distribute Cartoon Network Magazine in the MENA region. Teshkeel has a proven record of success bringing brands like ours to young readers across MENA, and I'm confident that the Cartoon Network family of characters will continue to entertain young people in the region for years to come."

Headquartered in Kuwait, Teshkeel is a publisher of comics and other children's entertainment in the Arab world. The partnership will kick off with the publication of the first issue of Cartoon Network Magazine in November 2007. "We're looking forward to helping Cartoon Network bring their entertaining, engaging characters to the Middle East, North Africa, and beyond," concluded Al-Mutawa.
