Building Drops Proudly Hosts Luncheon at Walk in My Shoes Event

HOLLYWOOD, Fla., March 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — This year, "Walk in my Shoes" marks its sixth anniversary as tens of thousands of Floridians, including the Building Drops team, walk with Lauren to show their support for her mission to end child sexual abuse and help survivors heal.

Lauren's Kids' most notable awareness campaign is the annual 1,500-mile "Walk in My Shoes" advocacy and awareness walk, which goes from the Southernmost point of the U.S. in Key West – coast-to-coast, community-to-community, all the way up to the steps of the Historic State Capitol in Tallahassee.

"I am very proud of the entire team at Building Drops, for participating in the walk for Lauren's Kids on Sunday, March 22nd in Hollywood, Florida in an effort to continue to support Lauren in this fight against child abuse," commented Bee Westphal, CFO of Building Drops.

Building Drops has been an active advocate of Lauren's Kids since the charity's inception in 2007, and has participated in several events, including the infamous walks across the state of Florida.

Building Drops sponsored lunch at Sunday's event at the John Williams Park in Hollywood, Florida, as many stopped to catch a break and rejuvenate during the walk. The Building Drops team enjoyed spending the break with walkers and Lauren and Ron Book, Chairman of Lauren's Kids, before they continued the second leg of the walk.

Westphal would like to thank Clay Donato, President of Bulk Nation, for his generous donation of Nutrition bars, which were well received by many walkers at the event. Bulk Nation is a specialty bulk food grocer that offers an extensive selection of fresh quality products at a great value and prides itself on the freshness and integrity of its products. Their corporate office is located in Tampa, Florida.

Westphal continues to further extend her appreciation to Chef Mari from CaterIt in Plantation, Florida, for supplying delicious sandwiches for the event. CaterIt is a full-service caterer offering Floridian style cuisine, customizable for all occasions.

In addition, last but not least, Westphal would like to thank Denise and Ruben Lujo from Broward Meat & Fish Co., for supplying fresh apples, which were included in every lunch bag. Broward Meat & Fish are a niche grocery store specializing in Caribbean foods, located in North Lauderdale.

Building Drops congratulates Lauren on all her achievements and pledges to continue to support her mission by being involved next year in a bigger capacity. They wish Lauren and her team all the best in their walk to Tallahassee this year!
