PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — An inspirational book awaits readers as Dr. James P. Meade, Jr. continues to encourage readers with his story of struggle, recovery, rehabilitation, survival, and psychological and emotional aid. From radio to TV to print, there's no stopping him from inspiring and helping others face and embrace their miracles. This is a collection of the experiences that guided the author from being an animal-like survivor of a massive brain injury to being a Ph.D. in Psychology and an internationally-known speaker who has shared with audiences around the United States and the world. He has worked with brain-injured individuals and their families around the world and has seen people create miracles that even other professionals thought could never happen. About the Author

Dr. James P. Meade, Jr. is the most widely known disabled Vietnam combat veteran in the world. He was a helicopter pilot who was commissioned at 19, and was wounded on a combat assault mission. Upon regaining consciousness, he has a complete loss of memory resulting in a cognitive and motor ability reduction; was even expected to die because of massive brain damage. When he entered community college, he was still confined to a wheelchair, could neither read, write, do any math, nor speak understandably. "Reader's Digest" magazine printed an article related to his history of neurological damage and rehabilitation efforts. Because of this, his efforts to rehabilitate himself were printed in newspapers through the country. In 1977, he enrolled at California School of Professional Psychology to study to become a clinical psychologist; and was a volunteer counselor at the same time.

He has spoken on radio and TV programs and public speaking events around the U.S.A. He works with brain-injured individuals and their families around the world at no cost to them. He has spent his "new" life helping disabled people be as much as they can be. He received several recognitions from distinct and esteemed organizations and institutions, which include: Outstanding Community Achievement of Vietnam Era Veterans by The President of the United States of America.
