The Chloe Duyck Memorial Fund Company Profile
After losing their daughter, Chloe, to a congenital heart defect (HLHS), the Duycks looked for an organization that focused on children’s heart defect research. While they found wonderful support groups, they knew that medical research would ultimately help save lives and improve outcomes. After consulting medical professionals and researching options, they could not find an organization that focused solely on pediatric heart research and it was suggested that a fund be created. The Duycks partnered up with the Cardiopulmonary Research Science and Technology Institute (CRSTI) to create The Chloe Duyck Memorial Fund. Funds would be earmarked for research and awareness in the area of pediatric congenital heart defects. This allowed the Chloe Duyck Memorial Fund to support research very early on. And, because funding is not used to pay salaries, more funding is made available for these research and awareness initiatives. The parent organization, CRSTI, has been instrumental in the success of these efforts as have volunteers and donors.
