The Secure Identity and Biometrics Association (SIBA) was founded in an era where rapidly evolving identity technologies are largely misunderstood as to their capability and benefit to society. These technologies are already integral in many aspects of our lives, in mobile solutions, in government and law enforcement, increasingly by the commercial sector, and by individuals seeking to protect their identity.
The complexities of these issues require strong leadership, government relations and expansive education if society is to receive their full benefit in a manner acceptable to a free society. Tangible democratic principles need consideration for many identity issues moving forward, including national security, public safety, economic strength, privacy and innovation. While some have couched these principles as mutually exclusive, SIBA was formed to provide leadership and solutions on how these principles can be integrated into solutions that respect and strengthen each of them in a manner that both better secures and protects individual identity.
WHO WE ARE. SIBA is a group of companies and other stakeholders that share a common interest in furthering the adoption of secure identity and biometric technologies through forward-thinking thought leadership, and well developed government relations and communications.
Members are actively involved in the research and development, deployment or commercialization of secure identity and biometric applications, systems and services. Members benefit a broad range of consumers, individuals, public entities, and commercial enterprises with both identity protection and security technologies.
