QuiltingHub is the brainchild of Florida native Paul Johnson. He was introduced to the idea for the site by patrons of a quilt shop in November 2009; they suggested the need for a better way to find shops, as well as a more exhaustive listing of important events. Initially, Johnson imagined spending about a year developing the site. Three years later, QuiltingHub became a reality. Within eight months of launch, the site had more quilting events listed than any other website in the world. Johnson loves art quilts, well-laid-out fabric in shops, solving problems, and helping people. With a Master's Degree in Computer Science, he ran his own financial services company for seven years. He also enjoys teaching, learning new things, and cats. In his spare time, he helps people with Alzheimer's disease.
