Along with professional accolades, our firm has had success in the courtroom. For example, our firm, along with co-counsel, obtained a record-setting jury verdict in October 2000. At that time it was the largest verdict in Virginia's history for an injured person suffering a traumatic brain injury ($46 million verdict, but with interest the total rose to $60 million). Rick Shapiro and Emily Mapp Brannon were all born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia (VA). Rick, James Lewis, and Kevin Duffan attended prestigious Virginia law schools including George Mason University, and the College of William & Mary.
