STTI is a nonprofit organization, headquartered in Indianapolis, Ind., USA, whose mission is advancing world health and celebrating nursing excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service. Founded in 1922 at the Indiana University School of Nursing, STTI has more than 135,000 members —including practicing nurses, educators, researchers, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and others—in more than 90 countries. STTI’s 492 chapters are located at 672 institutions of higher education throughout Armenia, Australia, Botswana, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, England, Ghana, Hong Kong, Japan, Kenya, Malawi, Mexico, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Swaziland, Sweden, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, the United States, and Wales. STTI holds Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations.
