History of Godsell Construction Corporation The Godsell Construction Corporation was founded by Arthur Godsell in 1968. Coming off of a recent job loss, Arthur Godsell Senior sat down with his wife, Gloria, and made plans to start a business of his own. He was 33 years old at the time and though some said he wasn’t “big enough” to start his own company he did it anyways. Today as a 2nd generation company, the Hicksville-based Godsell Construction Corporation is owned and run by his two sons: Arthur and John. It boasts 75 employees and counts well-known corporations such as Cushman & Wakefield, North Shore LIJ Hospitals, and Tishman Speyer among its clients. Community Involvement The Godsell Construction Corporation is committed to strengthening the community and construction industry, especially on Long Island. The company is a member of the New York chapter of the International Wall and Ceiling Association and has sponsored local baseball, softball and soccer teams. It has also repaired local sports fields and provided financial support to the Police Athletic League as well as fire departments and other organizations. Arthur Godsell Senior managed many of his six children’s teams and now his son’s carry on the tradition by coaching Godsell Construction-sponsored teams. Long Island has been good for us both personally and professionally. Our commitment to quality and personal service still remains strong.
