Dhruv Dhawan Company Profile

Dhruv Dhawan was born in 1979 in Mumbai and is a cultural anthropologist and filmmaker graduated from Duke University. As a director, he focuses on documentary films on issues of human rights. After the tsunami, he spent 10 months living with Sri Lanka’s survivors, documenting their strength and struggle in FROM DUST, which opened to critical acclaim at the Tribeca Film Festival and was internationally distributed. He is also a photographer whose work is exhibited in galleries around the world. Dhawan is currently based in Vancouver as a freelance producer and director.
