Here at Chatty Kidz we know how hard it is to raise young children because we're parents too. It was during a visit by the grandparents that Ken Taggart noticed something; his 2 boys learnt a lot from their grandparents & they enjoyed it. Ken wished the grandparents lived closer; life would be a lot easier if they could help more often. Then he started to wonder if technology could help connect children, families & learning? The answer is Chatty Kidz, a solution to close the distance between families & kids; connecting them through video chat and ensuring high levels of engagement by using collaborative educational activities. The first version of the product, an iPad app, launched in May 2013. It was clear to those early users that there were many benefits to the Chatty Kidz solution: Children displayed high levels of engagement (a students desire to participate in learning) Children learn better & faster when working with family members Children were motivated because they enjoy using technology for learning The interactivity & regular communication helped to better connect distant families Collaboration for the greater good - the family is closer if they enjoy time working on common goals together The parents/grandparents have a reason to use technology and their skills improve rapidly Everybody has fun The kids use the iPad for good instead of evil Grandparents nurture a deeper bond with their grandchildren Distant parents nurture a deeper bond with their children Chatty Kidz is a team of parents, technical geniuses, creative gurus & educational specialists who care about quality education provided to children all over the world. Committed to building upon the existing Chatty Kidz platform, they are busy designing and developing new collaborative educational content to be delivered across a range of devices (i.e. PC, TV, tablet & phone). Ken Taggart says "We want Chatty Kidz to be useful to our own families & to help us to better educate our own children; if it's useful to us then it is going to be useful for you too."
