Atomic Tattoos Named One of INC. Magazine's Fastest Growing Companies for Three Consecutive Years

TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 26, 2010 — For the third straight year, Atomic Tattoos has been presented with INC. Magazine's highly coveted award as one of the Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies for 2010.

"We are honored to be selected alongside so many of the country's most successful businesses," states Steve Cannon, CEO of Atomic Tattoos.

"Atomic Tattoos has been fortunate for such tremendous growth and this award is a positive validation of our strategy," Cannon concludes. "These are difficult economic times but if you control costs growth is still possible." Previous recipients of the esteemed award include Clif Bar, Skull Candy, and Zip Car.

Atomic Tattoos has achieved a 25% three-year growth rate despite difficult economic conditions. Atomic Tattoos is the largest and fastest growing tattoo retail operation in the $2 billion dollar a year tattoo industry and projects double-digit growth in 2010. "We see double-digit growth projected well beyond 2010," concludes Cannon.

With unemployment at double digits and fifty percent or greater sales decreases in many industries, Atomic Tattoos has learned to weather and prosper despite the economic storm. "Our focus is on store expansion in better markets and job creation," states Cannon. "By focusing on higher footfall locations, demographically focused population densities, and targeted psychographic marketing we have realized strong growth and job creation despite the economy."

In the last year Atomic Tattoos has opened four next-generation upscale stores in major malls. These new stores set the stage for a national expansion in major malls, shopping destinations, vacation and entertainment destinations. "We are exploring a number of markets and malls to expand our footprint as well as funding options with interested investment groups. It will be a challenge but experiential retailing is a safer model than the traditional model of stocking shirts on shelves," adds Cannon.

In recent years, tattooing has been popularized by tattoo-inspired television shows, celebrity and sports icons, and dozens of tattoo magazines and thousands of tattoo websites. Approximately 40% of 18-40 year-olds have one or more tattoo and an estimated 8 million Americans will get tattooed in 2010. "We are the largest and fastest growing tattoo retail brand in the world and in a strong position to take advantage of this market opportunity," states Cannon.

Atomic Tattoos was founded in October 2001 by dedicated tattooing and piercing professionals with more than 40 years of combined industry experience. Atomic Tattoos is locally owned and operated by tattoo artists for tattoo artists. The company prides itself on exceeding industry standards in quality, cleanliness, safety, service, price and overall excellence.
