Atlantans Select The Creatives Project as the Winner of the 2015 Advancing Atlanta Award

Georgia-based medical group Advanced Aesthetics supports local nonprofits that benefit the community.

ATLANTA, April 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Advanced Aesthetics, PC is pleased to announce the 2015 Advancing Atlanta Award winner: The Creatives Project. The medical practice created the Advancing Atlanta Award to celebrate the nonprofit organizations and groups that provide civic and aesthetic contributions to the beautiful city of Atlanta.

"There are so many outstanding organizations in Atlanta that make a tremendous impact on our community," says Dr. Paul Feldman. "We are pleased to be able to shine a spotlight on their good work through this award."

Four nominees were chosen for their innovative approach to community improvement through art programs, green initiatives, urban development, and other projects that benefit the people of Atlanta. Out of the many excellent nonprofit organizations that serve Atlanta, four were nominated for the 2015 award: Atlanta BeltLine, The Creatives Project, Trees Atlanta, and WonderRoot.

The public voted for their top nominees over a two-week period to show their support for the nonprofit of their choice. "Atlantans weighed in and we listened," says Dr. Feldman. "It is an honor to support the organizations that our citizens have selected."

2015 Advancing Atlanta Winner: The Creatives Project

The Creatives Project is the 2015 Advancing Atlanta winner. By providing arts-based education, resources, and outreach for Atlanta's visual and performing artists and underserved youth population, TCP strives to create a sustainable arts ecosystem that gives a voice to the underheard. The group empowers Atlantans to recognize the city's potential and to participate in fostering the growth of its dynamic, fertile communities.

TCP rallied its supporters throughout the voting process. The organization is smaller in size than some of the other nominees, but mighty in its reach—and growing every day. It is an excellent example of how Atlantans come together to support organizations that inspire the community.

"We were extremely humbled to have been included amongst such impressive organizations as an Advancing Atlanta Award Nominee," explains Neda Abghari, Executive Director of The Creatives Project. "Now, we're so excited that the community chose us as the winner. With the hard work of many committed citizens and organizations, Atlanta becomes more and more vibrant each day. Support from individuals and businesses like Advanced Aesthetics makes our work possible and sustainable."

The Creatives Project will receive a $1000 donation as the 2015 Advancing Atlanta Award winner.

2015 Advancing Atlanta Runner Up: Atlanta BeltLine

Atlanta BeltLine is one of the largest urban redevelopment and revitalization projects underway in the United States. Through a comprehensive effort, this project will reuse 22 miles of historic railroad to connect Atlanta's neighborhoods through public parks, trails, and transit.

Atlanta BeltLine will also receive a cash donation to further their efforts to connect and beautify Atlanta's public spaces.

"Both The Creatives Project and Atlanta BeltLine are taking strides to beautify Atlanta, inside and out," Dr. Feldman continues. "We are honored to support their efforts through the Advancing Atlanta award."
