ST. LOUIS, May 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — ATIS Elevator Inspections, a subsidiary of American Testing & Inspection Services, is pleased to announce it has acquired A-1 Elevator Inspection, Inc., which is based in the Tampa, Florida area.
With 7 Qualified Elevator Inspectors, A-1 has provided consulting, test witnessing, inspection and certification services for elevators, escalators, moving walks, lifts and other mechanized conveyances throughout Florida since 2000. Charlie Slater, President of A-1, has joined ATIS as a Vice President with initial responsibility for the company's Florida operations.

ATIS launched operations in January 2013 and has grown to over forty-five employees. Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, the company is currently providing safety inspection and test witnessing services in more than eighteen states. With plans to significantly expand its geographic footprint, ATIS is seeking to hire qualified candidates and make select acquisitions throughout the country.
