An App Built for Prayer Raises Voices and Funds for Haiti

MEDL Mobile creates free iPhone app that allows users to send messages of hope and donations to the people of Haiti

IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 1, 2010 — MEDL Mobile, Inc., the leader in mobile application development and the company behind internationally successful apps such as Boxhead, Note to God and the #1 hit, Mall Maps, have launched a new app that allows users to write and share anonymous "Notes to Haiti." The app, entitled Note to Haiti also includes a one-click link to donate $10 directly to the Red Cross. MEDL does not keep any of the monies generated by the app.

"Our app, Note to God, lets people share prayers anonymously with others around the world. It's become a fascinating barometer of what people are praying for," said Dave Swartz, MEDL Mobile Co-Founder. "Starting almost immediately on Tuesday, the 12th, we saw a large number of people praying for Haiti. We saw real power in an app that enables people to share their prayers – and their dollars – with the island nation."

The free app allows users to post notes anonymously to the people of Haiti and then look through the notes collected. By clicking on the How Can You Help link, users are taken to an auto-populated text message to the Red Cross's 90999 text-to-donate program. All proceeds from Note to Haiti go directly to Red Cross relief efforts.

"Our hope is that people will read the notes, then be inspired to make a donation," adds Swartz. "There are many studies that point to the power of mass prayer. By using the universal appeal of the iPhone, we aim to give people a way to channel their thoughts and hopefully make a difference."
