Announcing the 2011 MacTech Conference – Annual Three-Day Immersive Event Coming November 2-4, 2011 in Los Angeles

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., March 25, 2011 — MacTech Magazine publicly announced today that it will be holding the MacTech Conference for IT Pros and Mac developers, November 2-4, 2011 in Los Angeles. Early Bird Registration is now open for the three-day, information-packed event that will have sessions and activities throughout the day and evening. This immersion conference is hotel-based, giving attendees the opportunity to not only learn from the best, but get to meet new people and spend time with their peers and industry leaders.

"With the incredible success of MacTech Conference 2010, attendees made it clear to us how much they liked our format, our content, and our hospitality. MacTech has always been here to serve the community, and MacTech Conference and MacTech Boot Camp events extend that concept," said Neil Ticktin, Editor-in-Chief/Publisher, MacTech Magazine. "In both the IT and developer communities, bonding with peers is amongst the top requests, and the MacTech Conference will be built to serve those wishes from the beginning."

"The whole idea of the MacTech Conference is to allow members of the Apple community to meet and exchange ideas," said Edward Marczak, Sessions Chair and Executive Editor of MacTech Magazine. "This will be spurred on by presentations from some of the best and well-known in the community."

The MacTech Conference will have two separate tracks: one focused on IT, and one focused on programming/development. With the acquisition of NSConference US, this year's MacTech Conference will have an expanded Developer Track. Sessions will focus on both desktop and mobile, with appropriate levels of attention paid to Mac, iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Those interested in speaking should contact MacTech at http://www.mactech.com/conference/speakers-app – already in progress, call for speakers (for main sessions) ends April 30th. Each application will be reviewed and either Edward Marczak (Overall and IT Sessions Chair) or Steve "Scotty" Scott (Developer Sessions Chair) will contact speaker candidates for more information.

MacTech Conference is priced economically at $999 pre-registration including all meals, a MacTech Magazine subscription, a schedule packed full of sessions, exclusive entertainment, and more. That said, we understand what it's like to be on a tight budget, or be a smaller developer. While we do expect the conference and hotel room block to sell out, special discount pricing is available through a limited quantity early bird registration at a rate of $799 — a savings of $200! Registration is open now at http://www.mactech.com/conference/registration

A limited number of partial and full student scholarships are available. See http://www.mactech.com/conference/student for more information.

The Sheraton is a quality venue with rooms that typically run $229.00 or more per night, plus tax, and with Internet for an additional fee. Available on a first-come, first-served basis, MacTech Conference attendees get a special rate – just $179 per night, which includes Internet. Taxes and service charges are extra. There's a limited number of hotel rooms available, and last year, some nights sold out completely.

Those interested in sponsoring MacTech Conference 2011, or taking part in vendor QuickTalks, should contact MacTech. http://www.mactech.com/conference/sponsorship

Separate from MacTech Conference, four more MacTech Boot Camp one-day seminars are scheduled for 2011 in Dallas, Boston, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Created especially for those techs supporting home and small- to medium-sized business users, MacTech Boot Camp seminars have already had strong registration in each of the newly announced cities. Early bird registration deadlines are coming up soon. See http://www.mactech.com/bootcamp for more information.
