Ameritas Life to Use FastTrack's EAV Services to Automate and Speed Employability Assessments During Disability Evaluation Process

FastTrack RTW Services & Solutions' Newest Tool Will Assist Nebraska Based Life Insurer in Their Disability Evaluation Process By Performing an Automated Comparison of the Claimant's Potential Employability based on Physical Capabilities, Gainful Wages, Training, Education & Experience (TE&E) and Occupational Availability in Their Local Labor Market

BEDMINSTER, N.J., Sept. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — FastTrack RTW Services & Solutions, a division of Kamine Technology Group, LLC, announced an agreement with Ameritas Life Insurance Corporation of Lincoln, Nebraska to utilize its Employability Assessment Verification (EAV) service. The service begins with the collection of restrictions and limitations (R&L's) data gathered through a detailed Physical Capabilities Form (PCF) from the medical provider and/or internal medical reviews. This data is automatically compared against FastTrack's proprietary Occupational Library, which contains physical job requirements for all occupational classifications, as defined by the Department of Labor, to determine which jobs, if any, the claimant can physically perform given their current R&L's.  Pre-determined filters are factored in to further screen for matching against gainful wage parameters, the claimant's individual training, education and experience (TE&E) and opportunities within their local labor market. The result of this automated process will allow FastTrack's (or the Insurer's) Vocational Rehabilitation Specialists to benefit from examination of as wide an array of jobs as possible before using filters and their own professional expertise to focus in on the best occupational matches for the claimant.

Dennis Peyton, 2nd Vice President Individual Life and DI Claims at Ameritas stated: "When I first became aware of FastTrack's EAV service, I immediately recognized the positive impact it could have on our disability related adjudication decisions. Improving our ability to get the best information as quickly as possible is key to not only getting an accurate understanding of a claimant's true ability to return to work but also places us in a better position to perform early intervention activities benefiting all parties. FastTrack's easy to read EAV report and standardized approach are also big positives for us."

Carl Capato, FastTrack's Senior Vice President for Strategic Risk Management Partnerships stated: "We welcome Ameritas on board as our latest customer and look forward to a long and successful partnership. Insurers are always looking for best practice solutions that truly optimize their adjudication process/decisions. EAV's unique automated matching methodology will add efficiency to a notoriously labor intensive process and provide solid data to assist their claims personnel.  These benefits will result in better claimant, risk management, financial and operational outcomes."
