'A Life in IV Acts': Author Inspired After Surviving Accident

NEW LONDON, Conn., Dec. 8, 2009 — After a deadly car accident at the age of 18, Cara Maddy was told she would never walk, talk, or function beyond the level of a third grader. Overcoming this tragedy served as inspiration for her novel, "A Life in IV Acts" (published by AuthorHouse). Maddy's novel follows the life of seven people forced to deal and cope with the unexpected situations life throws their way.

A young man who feels he has nothing left to live for encounters the Stewart family. However, the family is coping with the loss of a daughter, a loner son whose girlfriend is pregnant, and a daughter who hasn't been able to cope with the death of her sister. As the characters continue in their struggles, they discover more about themselves and each other. They learn how to trust one another, when to ask for help and when to take on tasks individually.

"With a car crash, a stabbing, a shooting, two life changing surgeries, and a family in turmoil, 'A Life in IV Acts' will keep the attention of many different types of readers."
