"The booming demand for luxury ranch living is a byproduct of the successful Texas economy, particularly the energy business," says Sean Gioffre, Boot Ranch co-director of marketing and sales. "The advent of hydraulic fracturing and the achievements of prized shale formations, like the Eagle Ford, Permian and Bakken, have pushed oil and gas production to record highs. With low interest rates, many people are looking to second homes as a hedge against inflation and as a tangible asset in which to put their money."

Five miles north of the historic town of Fredericksburg, Boot Ranch is a master-planned retreat on more than 2,000 acres. Featuring a PGA legend Hal Sutton-designed championship course and 34-acre practice park (including a short game range and executive Par 3 course), Boot Ranch offers three living options:

  • Estate Home sites range in price from $300,000 to $2,500,000 (2 acres – 18 acres) inclusive of club membership, with residences starting at 2,500 to 15,000 heated and a/c square feet.
  • Overlook Cabins are on 1/2 to 1-1/2 acres properties with all-in-prices starting in the $800's, including lot, membership and completed structure of from one to eight bedrooms. Located behind the #10 signature hole tee, the architect is Chas Architects.
  • Sunday Houses are inspired by weekend residences shared by the original Fredericksburg settlers when they came to town on Saturdays for supplies and to attend church the next day. A limited number of fractional ownership shares are available, starting at $350,000 per share, inclusive of club membership. The 5 bedrooms and 5 ½ bathroom compound is about 4,500 square feet, and consists of a main gathering house with 2 bedrooms (a master suite and a kids bunk room) and 3 detached master suite bedrooms.

Amenities at Boot Ranch are unparalleled in the Hill Country and have resulted in exceptional interest in its real estate and club memberships. Owner and member privileges include access to the 55,000-square-foot Clubhouse Village, casual and fine dining with Executive Chef Aaron Staudenmaier, a fully-stocked wine cellar, golf shop, ReStore Spa & Fitness Center, the 4.5-acre Ranch Club with pavilion, pools, tennis and sports courts, 10 member/guest lodge suites, a trap and skeet range overlooking Longhorn Lake, hiking, mountain biking, canoeing and fishing. Construction is under way on a fishing pier and comfort station near Boot Ranch's signature hole #10 on the golf course.

"We call Boot Ranch the 'American Dream Texas Style.' The motivation for buyers seems to be for recreational property – somewhere where owners can golf, fish, dine, swim, relax and generally enjoy the Texas outdoors," says Andrew Ball, Boot Ranch co-director of marketing and sales. "Many people say they just want to get their kids and grandkids out of the city, even if for only a few days or weeks at a time."

The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses recently announced that Boot Ranch has retained its designation as a "Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary." Boot Ranch is one of 24 courses in Texas and 904 courses globally to receive the honor. Southern Living included Fredericksburg in its annual "Small Towns We Love" feature, and Wine Enthusiast cited Texas Hill Country as "One of the Top 10 Wine Travel Destinations in the World for 2014."
