"We saw a need for some of our residents to have an expanded menu. Often nursing homes offer a standard meal choice and one alternative such as a soup and sandwich, but we wanted to make sure our residents always have an enjoyable meal offered to them," said Doug Taggart, administrator at Arlington Residence and Rehabilitation Center.

In addition to the meal of the day, the facility now offers a selection of menu items that are available anytime, including choices such as chef salad, hamburgers, and cottage cheese with fruit. The delicious options provide residents with nutritious foods that can sustain them throughout the day.

"It's delicious! There's a great variety of options and it's important to know you have options. I think everyone is doing a great job," said Joy Massengale, resident at Arlington Resident and Rehabilitation Center.

The facility has also been investing in numerous other ongoing improvements to the center.  New, state-of-the-art hospital beds have been installed, new furniture for resident rooms is in place and major renovation projects are in the early planning stage.

Arlington Residence and Rehabilitation Center also features a unique female-only Heritage Memory Care unit for Alzheimer's and dementia patients with an all-female staff and residents. The unit has a 24-hour nursing staff that can provide assistance with daily activities as well as a variety of social activities, including support groups, current event discussions, arts and crafts, and more.
