Non-Profit Organization Feed Our Vets to Benefit from 2nd Annual 4 Points Compass Bike Ride on August 25

UTICA, N.Y., July 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Bikers are polishing chrome and tuning their engines in preparation for the 2nd annual 4 Points Compass Ride to benefit Feed Our Vets, an organization whose mission is to reduce hunger among American veterans.

Riders will depart from Harley Davidson stores in four different towns — Watertown, Utica, Binghamton and Rochester – on the morning of August 25th. The fee to participate is $20 per rider and $10 per passenger, and virtual riders are encouraged to join the fun. Participants can register on the Feed our Vets website or call 315-368-5973 for more information.

The benefit ride will culminate at noon with a celebration party for the participants and the public at the American Legion Post 787 in Cicero. There will be vendors, live music by Lonesome Crow, a BBQ dinner, prizes, raffles and other events. All funds raised by the ride will be used to support Feed Our Vets' feeding programs for veterans and their families.

"Our first Compass Ride in 2012 was such a fun and successful event that the riders immediately asked us to repeat it again this year," said Richard Synek, founder and Executive Director of Feed Our Vets. "We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the area's motorcycle enthusiasts for their support and determination to help us fill our food pantries and distribute nutritious meals to struggling veterans and their families."

Feed Our Vets operates a food pantry in Utica and a mobile pantry that delivers food to veterans in Watertown and other underserved communities in the northeastern U.S. The food is donated by local food manufactures and grocery stores, and purchased by Feed Our Vets. The pantries distribute food at regularly scheduled times to U.S. military veterans and their families.
